Keep Everything Safe During A Move By Creating Padding
One of the most stressful things about packing for a move is making sure that everything arrives in the condition it was packed in. Extra care needs to be taken when packing delicate items like dishes or other fragile valuables. The best way to do this is by creating padding for a move and preventing items from knocking into each other and breaking.
Making bumpers out of newsprint is the best way of creating padding for a move. It is best to use clean newsprint, which can be found at any moving store, so that the valuables are not stained from the ink. Simply crumple paper loosely and then wrap it in another sheet of paper, creating a bumper that will look something like a submarine sandwich.
In order to save paper and avoid the expense, there are other ways of creating padding for a move. One of the simplest is by padding delicate items with towels or blankets. These are items most people have around the home and they need to be packed somewhere anyway, so it is best to save space by having them serve a purpose in transit.
Once all of the items have been put in boxes with padding, there may still be gaps. Creating padding for a move to fill in all of the holes is incredibly simple. Just take some more of the newsprint and crumple it up to fill in the holes. For someone who is using towels instead of paper, washcloths are great for filling in small spaces.
With a little bit of creativity, creating padding for a move is very simple. Newsprint is very effective and easy to find, but it is also possible to use soft items like towels that eventually need to get packed anway. Whatever material is used, be sure to fill in all gaps so that every item will arrive in one piece.
